Ashley Rudd clinched the Peterborough Motocross Club Championship title on Sunday after another confident ride in the final round of the schoolboy category.
Teenager Rudd, who is a member of Holbeach-based Team TRM, placed second, first and second at the Chatteris track to claim top spot overall and win the title – capping months of hard work.
His younger brother Kieran, who was celebrating his 11th birthday, couldn’t make it a Rudd double though. After finishing fourth in his opener, a crash saw the birthday boy place fifth in race two.
He then came off his bike again in race three, injuring his knee. Kieran managed to get back on his bike, but could only manage eighth – meaning he missed out on the juniors section title.
Still, fifth overall ensured he finished second in the series standings.
Also competing in the over-35 section were brothers Mark and Lee Rudd.
In what was his first race in a year following a hip operation, Mark managed two third places and a second to take third overall.
Lee wasn’t far behind him, but crashes hampered his progress.
Still, he finished sixth, fifth and fourth to take fifth overall.
