Another victory for Tydd Gote Angling Club’s Emery at highly competitive meet

Pete Emery is still in fine form and put on a superb display at the Tydd Gote Angling Club Sunday match at Main Road with a fine bag of roach, rudd and skimmers.

Emery was on the concrete and alternated whip and long pole with pinkie and tares feeding hemp for an excellent total of 16lb 8oz.

Dennis Houghton was runner-up again, from peg five, with some quality roach and skimmers to his maggot and pinkie hookbait over hemp for a fantastic 14lb 14oz.

But for a lot of pike activity in the last hour, he would have pushed Emery even closer.

It was also a close run thing for the minor places, with Andrew Kilby taking third position with 12lb 14oz and Don Green fourth on 12lb 2oz.

They were just in front of Steve Borrett’s 11lb 12oz for fifth position.

Other results: Wednesday Open (at Main Road): 1st Mick Asker 6lb 11oz; 2nd John Taylor 5lb 12oz; 3rd Sammy McSpadden 5lb.
