Act II set to shine on stage

You don’t have to walk 500 miles to see Act II’s latest creation – just head to The South Holland Centre.

The smash hit Scottish musical, Sunshine On Leith is heading to Spalding for the very first time.

The musical, performed by the students of Act II Theatre Company (plus an eight-piece live band) features songs by The Proclaimers, famous for hits such as Letter From America, I’m On My Way and I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), all featured here.

This Edinburgh-set musical charts the story of Ally and Davy returning home to Edinburgh from serving in the forces to find the course of love running less than smoothly for them and for the older generation.

A spokesman for Act II said: “Funny, poignant, topical and moving, this show is a love letter to Edinburgh and cannae be missed!”

Sunshine On Leith is heading to the South Holland Centre on September 21 and 22 (junior cast) and September 22 and 24 (senior cast) at 7.30pm, plus there’s a 2.30pm relaxed show on Saturday.

Tickets are available from https://www.southhollandcentre.co.uk/whats-on/view/sunshine-on-leith-act-ii-theatre-company or 01775764777.
