Dunn hopes UCL will extend season after latest Pinchbeck United postponements

Pinchbeck United player/boss Ian Dunn reckons that the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division season may need to be extended this year.

The Knights, who are bottom of the table, are one of many teams to be way behind with their fixtures after the dreadful weather so far in 2020.

Pinchbeck haven’t played since February 11, with Saturday’s home date with Boston Town and Tuesday night’s trip to Desborough Town both rained off.

Dunn also admits that Saturday’s game at Lutterworth Town (3pm) could fall foul of the weather, given the forecast of more rain and snow.

He said: “Obviously there is nothing anybody can do about the weather. But a lot of teams, including us, have a lot of games to catch up on.

“I don’t know if they will, but it would help if the UCL extended this season by a few weeks. I know a lot of teams would appreciate that. We’ll have to see.

“Lutterworth on Saturday looks a tough game, you know what you’ll get from them as a side.

“They’ll switch play and have lots of pace up front. We had them watched against Boston Town and, although they lost 4-0, they apparently should have got something.”

The Knights could have two new faces in the squad, with winger Kieran Hamilton and midfielder Jacob Bingham joining from Netherton United and Stilton United respectively.

Dunn, who may again play at centre back, reckons the pair add experience and great ability to his young squad.
