Two new Community Safety Officers have been appointed to tackle anti-social behaviour in Spalding.
Funded through the Spalding Neighbourhood Board, the new officers will work with residents, businesses, police and partner organisations.
“The introduction of these officers is an important step in helping us create a safer and more welcoming environment across Spalding,” said Coun Anthony Casson, portfolio holder for public protection at the district council.
“Their visible presence will provide reassurance to residents and businesses, while their work with partners and community groups will help tackle the issues that matter most to local people.
“We encourage residents to engage with the officers and report any concerns so we can continue working together to improve community safety across Spalding.”
Robin Hancox, chairman of the neighbourhood board, said it was ‘fantastic’ to see the new officers getting to work in the town centre.
“We know that feeling safe and secure is a priority for local people and the appointment of the offices is in direct response to community feedback.
“The new officers will build on the great work that has begun through the hot-spot policing scheme, and more recently the flexible patrol service which has made a real difference in the town centre.
“We will continue to ensure that Pride in Place funding is invested in line with community priorities, and that projects reflect what happens most to local people.”
