Dream debut for Richardson but Pinchbeck United are outgunned by Deeping

Deeping Rangers 4

Adam Richardson marked his Pinchbeck United debut with two goals – but it couldn’t stop Deeping Rangers winning 4-2 at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Saturday.

The striker netted on nine minutes after a keeping error before Tom Garrick (17) levelled, only for Richardson (31) to put the hosts ahead again before half-time.

That’s as good as it got for the Knights, with Cameron Thomas (55), David Burton-Jones (58) and Jack Gurney (90) sentencing Ian Dunn’s side to a 16th successive loss.

Dunn said: “We started well and Deeping didn’t really get going. It was nice to see us creating chances and scoring goals!

“Richardson and (Corey) Kingston certainly gave us more going forward and there was a key moment before half-time when we perhaps should have had a penalty when the referee gave a free-kick on the edge of the box.

“At 2-1, it’s always dangerous against a side like Deeping. They came out in the second half and blew us away.

“I felt 4-2 did flatter them, but our season won’t be defined by results against teams as strong as Deeping Rangers.”

Knights: Woolley, Gaukroger, Wason, Parsons, Gilbert, Eyes, Gee, Finley, Kacirek, Richardson, Kingston. Subs used: Dunn, Jacquite, Shores.

Attendance: 49.
