Teens plant dementia garden

A group of teenagers have planted a dementia garden as just one of the many selfless acts undertaken during their summer holidays as part of the National Citizen Service programme.

Wrapping up four weeks of activities, which included a charity bag-pack at Iceland in Spalding on Friday, which raised £176, the team got their hands dirty at the former car park area of Ayscoughfee Garden on Love Lane.

The group had worked with dementia charity Tonic Health last week so decided to create a dementia garden in a shaded area.

Baytree Garden Centre donated the plants and Ayscoughfee’s head gardener provided pointers for planting before the young adults got to work designing and planting the garden.
