In-form Ashley Rudd is the East of England champion at his age group after a stunning showing at Chatteris over the weekend.

The teenage team TRM ace finished top of the Schoolboy 125 category after winning two of his six outings on a dry and dusty track – and brothers Kieran and Ryan Rudd also shone at the East of England Challenge event.

Holbeach lad Ashley enjoyed a fine start to the meet on Saturday as he clinched second place in each of his first two outings.

A crash in race three saw him slip back to third, but three hole-shots on Sunday steered him to another second and a pair of victories to seal overall glory.

In the same category, Ryan was also in a fast-starting mood. He grabbed a hat-trick of hole shots on Saturday en-route to impressive finishes of fifth, sixth and third.

Although his progress was halted by two punctures, he picked up placings of fifth and two fourths on Sunday to claim fifth overall.
Meanwhile, young gun Kieran was on red-hot form in the 65cc class.

He started with a solid fourth place, before a crash saw him slip back to fifth in Saturday’s second race.

But Kieran roared back to form in the third, taking top spot to leave the rest of the field eating his dust.

The youngster then grabbed the hole shot in Sunday’s opener to grab third, before improving to take second in his next one.

However, another crash pushed him back to fourth in the finale as he clinched third overall.

The trio are competing in Herefordshire this weekend.
