Two young people gave up their weekend to raise money for six hours of nursing care for someone local with cancer.
Elizabeth (6) and Victoria Hammond (3) joined mum Hannah in collecting for Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
The pair collected over £122.
Elizabeth said: “I have been helping my mummy since I was a baby and now my best friend Grace and little sister
Victoria come with us too.
“My favourite part is getting dressed up – it’s lots of fun.
“Mummy tells me that the coins people put in her bucket will help to look after people who are sick.
“I think the daffodils are pretty and I like to pin mine on my dress.”
Mum Hannah said: “I originally started collecting when a friend’s mum died from cancer in a hospice a few years before the girls arrived.
“The children have accompanied me since they were babies. I always give them the option to do something with Daddy, but they enjoy collecting. They like the adults chatting to them, handing out daffodils and knowing they are doing something to help sick people.”
