Thousands came to Spalding for a Remembrance Sunday made even more poignant as it marked 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Crowds watched the parades as service personnel, veterans, dignitaries and youth organisations marched two and from the town centre to the gardens of Ayscoughfee Hall.
There wreaths were laid at the town’s war memorial.
In the town centre, the 23 bells of the Spalding Carillon inscribed with memorial messages to casualties from the war were rung.
Frank White, chairman of the Spalding branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “We would like to thank everyone for attending.
“The display of wreaths was most impressive.”
This year was the first year that the Rotary Club of South Holland took on the organising of the closure of the roads.
Steve Colby, who led the operation, thanked motorists for their patience.
He said: “We had no issues.
“There seemed to be around two or three times more people in attendance this year.”
