Long Sutton has taken the honours in a contest to find the county’s best small town.
Judges awarded town the winning place in the category for towns with a population between 2,501 and 7,000.
Chairman of the parish council, Dale Frith said everyone was delighted to hear the good news this week.
“We are thrilled that Long Sutton has been given such an accolade and it’s a well-deserved award,” he said.
The town beat runner-up Horncastle to the title.
Holbeach took the top spot for Past Winners (of the last four years) with Crowland as runner-up. Fleet Hargate was the runner-up in the medium village category.
“Standards this year were very high and winners have been validated against their largest ever number of competitors,” said chairman Tim Machin.
“We are delighted to announce this year’s worthy winners and it is great to see so many communities taking such pride in where they live.”
