Parish councillors are “more determined than ever” to push for speed restrictions after a meeting this week.
Chairman Trevor Tyrrell said there was widespread disappointment after the meeting on Tuesday as there were no plans for immediate resolution.
Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner, the road safety partnership, parish council and members of the public met to discuss the issue of speeding in the village.
Passive speed cameras have recorded speeds of up to 90mph through the village’s 30mph limit and residents are pushing for more action.
But John Siddle, of the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership, said Cowbit was on the list for community speedwatch where volunteers have cameras and can pass on details of speeding drivers to police.
“We have a new co-ordinator arriving in the county in May and Cowbit is one of the villages which has already shown interest in the scheme,” said Mr Siddle.
Cowbit would also have an upgraded fixed speed camera but did not qualify for major engineering works, such as chicanes, as casualty rates were not severe enough.
“We don’t dispute there is a speeding problem in Cowbit but we don’t have the resources for large engineering projects,” said Mr Siddle.
County councillor Nigel Pepper said he hoped a variety of measures would ease the problem, which was not unique to Cowbit.
