Fans urged to support Spalding Indoor Bowls Club’s exciting under-25 singles event

Spalding Indoor Bowls Club hosts its popular annual under-25 open singles tournament this weekend.

The tournament, which will be held at the Spalding Club’s Castle Sports Complex base, will be played to a quick-fire premier threes format on Saturday. Each match will be played over the best of three sets, with each set consisting of just three ends.

Some of the best local players will be pitched against some of the best players in the country.

There will be a round robin format before the knockout stages commence later in the day.

Play commences at 11am and, with £700 total prize money up for grabs, it’s bound to be fantastic event. All sporting fans are encouraging to come along and support what is a free event.

  • Spalding’s County mixed team played against Lincoln A on Sunday – and came away with three winning rinks out of the five ends.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to take the spoils, as Spalding lost the aggregate by just four shots.

The best winning rink was ably skipped by John Needham and supported by Betty Deaton, Pearl O’Brien and John Laud.
