Pinchbeck supermarket plans for home shopping service

Supermarket company Morrisons is hoping to expand its Pinchbeck store.

It has submitted a planning application to provide additional floor area for a home shopping service.

Documents from architects Whittam Cox show proposals to build an extension on the store for storage and loading purposes.

The site is located within the existing service area to the rear of the store at Wardentree Lane.

“The proposals also incorporate the associated servicing, plant and parking in order to allow for the efficient and safe operation of the service,” says the design and access statement submitted with the plans.

The design adds a further 169sqm to the store and will provide chilled and ambient storage for home shopping before it’s loaded onto a fleet of delivery vans.

There will also be a loading area with a canopy and it will be built primarily using composite aluminium panels to complement the existing store.

“We are confident that the proposed site additions will be well received by the local residents and visitors to the Morrisons store,” the application concludes.
