Three-sy does it! Crowson pleased as Moulton Harrox keep pressure on top two

Paul Crowson saluted a job well done as Moulton Harrox beat Sawtry 3-0 on Saturday to keep their slim ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division title hopes alive.

A fine first-half strike from Joe Townsend gave Harrox a 1-0 half-time lead at Broad Lane, before second-half efforts from Jake Cawthorne and Marcus Parry – who ran the visitors ragged – wrapped up the points.

The win keeps Moulton third in the table, seven points behind leaders Peterborough Sports Reserves having played a game more.

“We’ve still got half a chance,” said assistant boss Crowson. “All we can do is keep winning games.

“Sawtry are a much-improved side and they looked decent on Saturday.

“I wouldn’t say we dominated, but we could easily have scored a few more. Marcus (Parry) in particular, who has had a great debut season for us, will probably tell you that he could have had a hatful.

“Overall it was a very pleasing performance.

“We’ve got some difficult games coming up, but we’re quietly going about our business and are ready to capitalise on any mistakes from the two teams sitting above us.”

Moulton visit lowly Stilton United on Saturday (2pm), with keeper Lee Kenealy and winger Ben Allen both unavailable for player/boss Nigel Steadman.
