Full-back James Cullingworth has become the third Spalding United signing of the week.
The defender, who can play on either side, follows Julian Kelly and Kern Miller in agreeing terms with the Tulips.
Formerly of Boston United and Ilkeston, the 26-year-old arrives at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field from Belper Town.
Having won promotion with all three of his former teams in the past, Spalding boss Pat Rayment rates Cullingworth as another top capture.
He’ll likely form a defensive unit with Nathan Stainfield, Gareth Jellyman and Miller, with Rayment calling the back four “silly good”.
“It’s another great acquisition for the football club,” said the former Peterborough United professional. “On paper, we’ve got a silly defence in a very good way.
“You have to say that it’s looking ominous for our opponents next season.
“James was on our radar thanks to Gareth Jellyman’s knowledge and he really fits the bill for what we are looking for.
“He’s won promotion at his former clubs – and that is exactly what we are looking to do.”
Spalding have now added five new faces to their squad having been promoted to Evo-Stik League Division One South as UCL Premier Division champions.
Keeper Nick Conroy is their other signing, with Jamie Stevens, Adam Jackson, Jonny Allen, Dan Cotton, Danny Hussey, Ross Watson and Josh Ford all departing.
