Holbeach boss Tom Roberts has challenged his players to help solve his own selection headache.
The Tigers, with the exception of the injured Adam Jackson, are now on the verge of having a full squad available for the first time this season.
Goalkeeper Rick Drury, defender Jamie Stevens and strikers Stuart Eason and Josh Ford all returned to the Holbeach squad for their league match at Boston Town on Wednesday night.
The quartet missed the weekend’s FA Cup defeat at Dereham Town where the Tigers gave a good account of themselves against higher level hosts.
And Roberts has now thrown down the gauntlet to those players who make the starting line-up to show him they want to stay there.
He said: “I had an 18-man squad available for the Boston game and that gives me a big headache, but it is a nice one to have.
“It’s now up to the lads who get given a shirt to show me that they want to keep it.”
Holbeach now have a double whammy of home matches as they host Peterborough Northern Star on Saturday (3pm) before Huntington Town visit Carter’s Park on Wednesday night (7.45pm).
The Tigers are still unbeaten in the Premier Division after winning three and drawing one of their four United Counties League matches so far.
Their latest success on Wednesday night came courtesy of a 3-1 away win at Boston Town thanks to goals from Jake Clitheroe, Nick Jackson and Ford.
Roberts added: “It’s important that we keep putting points on the board.
“The lads are full of confidence and hopefully we can get a little run going now which will move us towards the top of the table.”
Defender Dan Worthington has left the Tigers to join UCL Division One side Bourne Town while midfielder Ollie Pinner has started his comeback from injury by playing twice in the last week for Lincolnshire League side Wyberton.
