New initiative to entice players back

Spalding RFC have launched a series of weekly ‘return to rugby’ sessions which get underway this Sunday.

The initiative is aimed at enticing rugby players back into the sport after having stopped playing the game due to a number of reasons (careers, commitments of raising a young family, lost contact with friends, moved away from area, etc).

The Spalding club offers a number of different routes to come back and play the sport whether it is competitive first team rugby, high level recreational rugby, social and vets rugby or weekly touch rugby sessions.

The sessions will run every Sunday from 10.30-11.30am at the Memorial Field where they hope ex-players will come down and get back into the sport as well as new players who may be thinking about taking it up.

Sessions will run for 10 weeks from this Sunday. They have been designed by club coach George Reid and will be supported by experienced players and coaching analyst Debbie Phillips.
