I cannot do anything other than agree with the sentiments you make regarding the dangers of weaving through closed crossings.
Unfortunately, for my wife and I, and of course our neighbours, we live on the wrong side of Mill Green and Park Road barriers.
Could Network Rail please help us understand how, when the barriers are down for four plus hours the emergency services would be able to assist us quickly, should we be in an unfortunate position to need them?
All we seem to receive from Network Rail is apology after apology but, that doesn’t help us in an emergency.
You mentioned in your article concerns that somebody will be killed, but what about somebody on our side of the barrier whom has suffered a stroke, heart attack or anything else life-threatening?
It’s just so frustrating that Network Rail got their way again with the upgrade and no compassion is given to the locals and you are right somebody will die as a result.
