LETTER: Dismay over losing car parking

My first reaction to the new look for Spalding was dismay at the proposal to lose parking spaces by making the Sheep Market vehicle free, also loss of parking in The Crescent and Broad Street.

We have gained one particularly good retailer in Hughes Electrical in the Sheep Market and we do not want to lose them.

We have bought several items from them and it is so handy to be able to park for one hour and shop there.

It has made it so much better to be able to pop into town, park for an hour free and shop since we have had the return of a traffic warden.

Removing the old toilets to create more parking spaces is a very good idea.

The market days are important to the town and could do with brightening up, but I do not know the answer to that one.

One way to make the town centre more inviting would be to ban bicycles.
