Community groups, not-for-profit organisations and charities can get free funding advice on their doorsteps thanks to a new initiative from Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS).
LCVS is launching outreach community support surgeries in Holbeach, Crowland and Long Sutton.
Groups will be able to come along to their LCVS Local to get tailored support for their projects, from helping to source funds and writing funding bids to information about setting up groups and making sure the right policies and procedures are in place.
Simon Wesley, LCVS community development officer for South Holland, said: “Whether you need £200 to run a community event or £50,000 to refurbish a village hall, we can help you to find and apply for funding.
“After having a talk about your project over a cup of coffee we’ll point you in the direction of appropriate funders and help you throughout the application process to give your bid the best chance of success.
“We encourage any group in the area to come along and find out how we can help.”
- The Crowland LCVS Local will take place monthly starting on Wednesday, July 8, 10am-12pm, at Crowland Library, Hall Street, Crowland PE6 0EW.
- The Long Sutton LCVS Local will take place monthly starting on Wednesday, July 22, from 10am-12pm, at Long Sutton Market House, Market Street, Long Sutton PE12 9DD.
- The Holbeach date will be confirmed soon.
Groups are asked to book their timeslot prior to the event via email to [email protected] or call 01775 718008.
LCVS is also able to offer advice and support from its Spalding base at South Holland District Council, Priory Road, Spalding PE11 2XE.
In addition to community development support, LCVS runs Spalding Volunteer Centre, at the SHDC office, where volunteering officers are available to help find volunteers for community groups and ensure organisations are doing everything possible to retain and train their volunteers.
