A village hall has enjoyed a fantastic start to its fundraising drive for a new roof ahead of event for those who don’t want to donate money via the internet.
West Pinchbeck Village Hall is looking to raise at least £20,000 to buy and install 4,000 tiles on the roof of the former Six House Bank school that dates back to the 1940s.
The ‘Raise the Roof’ crowdfunder has already raised just short of £15,000 and the committee behind the hall have also been offered £5,000 from the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership via the South Holland Community Fund.
That’s match funding though, so the committee needs to raise another £5,000 which will go a long way to covering the £28,000 cost.

As several people have said they don’t want to give money online, the hall is hosting a Cash and Cheque Donation Day, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 12.
You can take your cash and or cheque to help sponsor a tile, or just make a donation to keep the well-used building open for the community.
A spokesman for the committee said: “Thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign so far.
“Every donation brings us closer to securing the future of this much-loved hall.
“Together we can Raise the Roof.”
