The Chain Bridge Forge has announced its latest fundraiser as it looks to teach four young people blacksmithing.
As in previous years, it wants to take part in the National Saturday Club Scheme which encourages young people to try out new skills for free.
A spokesman for the society said: “The Forge fosters community engagement by hosting free blacksmithing workshops, offering hands-on experience in crafting items like hooks while introducing participants to the art of blacksmithing.
“Additionally, it empowers four young individuals by sponsoring their involvement in the National Saturday Club, where they attend 15 sessions to build foundational blacksmithing skills.
“Beyond technical learning, the programme boosts creativity, confidence, and connectivity with the artistic community, culminating in an awards ceremony at Somerset House in London.
“This initiative blends skill-building with community spirit and artistic recognition.”

Recent projects carried out by the blacksmiths at the Chain Bridge Forge include replacing rails in front of a listed building in Folkingham.
It’s also been working with the Young Journalists Academy which has produced a video on the Resonate art installation now on show at Ayscoughfee Hall which it helped created alongside arts group Squidsoup as part of he Story Tellers project.
