Hollis’ marathon effort

Daniel Hollis completed his first marathon at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough.
The Halmer Harriers member completed the Summer Ready Run in 6hrs 6mins 40secs for 14th place.
☐ Twenty newcomers were among the 86 participants at Saturday’s Snowden Field parkrun.
Nine of the runners, joggers and walkers recorded personal best times at the Crowland event, which saw regular fastest finisher Ryan Anderson, of Peterborough & Nene Valley AC, across the line in 18mins 53secs.
Adam Caress was the first Halmer Harrier to finish, in 22:17, with Debs Norman the 11th female over the line in 30:44.
Four members of the Spalding running club headed east to the Sheringham parkrun, with Lisa Gill completing the Norfolk route in 30:18, Kathryn Chapman in 37:10, Jayne Pell, 37:57, and Katherine Baxter, 1:03:17.
All the volunteering roles at this Saturday’s Snowden Field parkrun will be filled by members of Eye Community Runners, as part of their takeover day.
