The proposed reopening of a closed Pinchbeck road has been put back another two weeks.
Enterprise Way was due to open by Friday, June 26 after a full repair of the road, which has collapsed three times in recent years, but it remains closed.
Anglian Water and Lincolnshire County Council say the latest delay is because of unexpected works that need to be carried out.
A spokesman for Anglian Water said: “We had originally hoped works would be completed by June 26. However, following ongoing investigations and additional repair work that wasn’t anticipated, the repair completion date has been extended, and we agree with Lincolnshire County Council’s current expectation that the road will reopen in mid-July.
“Our manager was due to visit the site on Wednesday to review progress and the remaining programme of works.
“We continue to work closely with Lincolnshire County Council and all parties involved to complete the remaining work as safely and efficiently as possible. We thank road users and residents for their patience as we get the road back to how it was.”
After Anglian Water has finished its work, Lincolnshire County Council says it will take over to rebuild the road and it is hoped to have it back in use by mid-July.
Highways manager Shaun Butcher said: “After working alongside Anglian Water to investigate the issue, we identified a fault in one of their assets. They’re now getting that sorted, and while that’s happening we’re getting ourselves ready so we can move back in straight away and get the road put right.”
