Rogosa and Bennett lead winning advance of seniors at Ryston Park

Gedney Hill’s Raffaele Ragosa and Roy Bennett won the Ryston Park Seniors Pairs Open with 43 points.

That saw them finish ahead of the other 21 pairs taking part in the event at the West Norfolk course.
Greetham Valley Golf Club hosted the annual Lincolnshire Past and Present Captains event, with two teams of four representing Gedney Hill.
One of them won the team event with Neil Sargeant, Roy Bennett, Greg Walsh and Raffaele Ragosa amassing 114 points. The second team got a credible 93 points.
In the individual event, Gedney members took the top two places. Sargeant was winner with 41 points, one ahead of clubmate Ragosa.
Gedney Hill seniors captain Jim Dixon presented the trophies back at the club.

The John Gamble Trophy attracted an entry of about 80 players for the stableford competition at Tydd St Giles Golf Club.
The individual competition was played off 95 per cent of course handicap and ended with victory for Vadja Csongorarpad with 41 points.
That was one more than Tim Hipkin, with Clive Barber taking third place on countback from Oliver Ewing, Terry Pease and Andy Sleath after they all finished with 38 points.
Nearest the pin on the fourth hole was Simon Smith, with Mick Keeling nearest on the eighth and Tim Hipkin on the 11th.
The longest drive on the 13th prize went to Ryan Rout, and nearest the pin on the 16th hole was Richard Bly, with Jonny Hubbard nearest the pin in two on the 18th.
A play-off failed to find a winner in a hard-fought putting competition, with Martin Wells and Jonathan Horscroft sharing the £62 pot.

Men’s June Pairs: 1 Michael Ewing/Jan Morais 42 pts, 2 Jonathan Housley-Stott/Luke Stanford 41, 3 Dean Wright/Vinney Day 40, 4 Will Woodrow/James Watson 39.
Tydd Seniors won 5-3 at March.
Tydd St Giles Men’s B team were 4-2 victors at home to Sutton Bridge.
