Bourne Academy, where students from Spalding Academy and Donington’s Cowley Academy Sixth Forum students attend, celebrated excellent results.
It saw 49 per cent of A-level and BTEC qualifications being the equivalent of grades A* to A and a 99 per cent pass rate across all exams.
That’s after the South Lincolnshire Academy Trust school had a record number of students sat exams in 2026.
There were notable successes for specific A-level subjects with 80 per cent of French students achieving A* to B and 56 per cent of English Language students achieving A* to B.
For the vocational qualifications, an outstanding 72 per cent of BTEC grades achieved were Distinction* to Distinction (equivalent to A* or A grade at A-level) with 98 per cent of all BTEC grades achieved were Distinction* to Merit (equivalent to A* or C grade at A-level). Students studying Health & Social Care were celebrating where 89 per cent achieved Distinction* to Distinction (equivalent to A* or A grade at A-level), plus 86 per cent of travel and tourism students and 83 per cent of performing arts students achieved distinction* to distinction.
Mrs Jemma Curson, chief executive officer at South Lincolnshire Academies Trust said “We are immensely proud
to have been able to celebrate another outstanding set of A-level and BTEC grades. To consistently achieve top
results as our Sixth Form grows significantly is just incredible. It has been wonderful to see the successes of our
students today as their hard work and dedication in Sixth Form has been rewarded. I would like to thank the Sixth
Form team and teaching staff for all of their advice, guidance and outstanding teaching that students have
received throughout their Sixth Form journey.

incredible with 99% having achieved their chosen university or apprenticeship offers. These including studying
law at University of Bristol, mental health nursing at King’s College London, architecture at Loughborough
University, music at LIPA (Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts), electrical & electronic engineering at University
of Nottingham, equine performance & rehabilitation at Hartbury University and medicine at Newcastle
University.
“There are also amazing degree apprenticeships secured at both local and national companies such as Perkins, Greencore, Peterborough United Football Club, Hays Travel and the Royal Air Force. We wish them every success and very best in their future careers.”
