New plan for convenience store

A new planning application to convert a former pub to a convenience store has been submitted to South Holland District Council.

A previous application relating to The Bell Inn, Pinchbeck, was refused by planners in January on grounds including highways and retail policy.

A new proposal addresses the previous issues and has been ‘prepared specifically to address those matters,” says a document submitted with the application.

With 25 parking spaces, ten more than the previous application, including electric vehicle and disabled spaces, the new application shows ‘the development can operate safely,’ the documents says.

The proposal retains the front elevation of the building while a two-storey extension will be demolished and replaced with a single storey.

The shop, if approved, is expected to be open from 6am to 11pm seven days a week.

The pub will be converted to flats if the store is refused as there’s already permission.
