After a succession of cancellations in the opening round of fixtures, this week finally saw a full complement of matches played across all three divisions of the Pinchbeck and District Summer Darts League.
In Division A, The Royal Mail Cart opened strongly with an impressive 19-8 home win over Services Club B. Stu Page and Dan Gent produced a 17-dart leg in their pairs victory for the Cart. Services’ Jonny Pell struck a 180 in his singles but lost out 2-1 to Ben Connell.
Newly promoted Kirton Leisure began life in Division A with a narrow 13-14 home defeat to Consti C. Jimmy Robinson secured the crucial leg for Consti in his 2-1 singles loss to Finn Andrew. Ash Brown wrapped up the match by winning the final singles 3-0, including an 18-dart leg against Josh Faulkner. Jordan Philpott and Jacob Herd fired in a 16-dart leg for Consti in their pairs, but were beaten 2-1 by Mark Ledger and Nathan Hill, who also recorded a 16-dart leg. Ledger added a tidy 100 checkout.
Pinchbeck FC B were edged out 13-14 by Green Dragon A. Scott Williams was in outstanding form for the Dragon, hitting three 180s and producing legs of 15 and 18 darts. Jon Goor threw a 17-dart leg in the final singles to secure the overall win, despite losing the game 2-1 to Connor Clift.
Defending champions Lincoln Arms A began their campaign with a 17-10 away win at Tigers Club, taking all of the first eight games by 2-1 margins. The Tigers’ only success came in the final singles, where former Lincoln player Si Hill beat Steve Stancer 2-1.
Lincoln’s John Charlton hit two 180s, while Paul Blow added an 18-dart leg.
Tigers players Ash Allen and Will Cliff also registered 180s.
In Division B, Draymans Arms B claimed a 16-11 away victory at Consti Club D. Jake Harris impressed with a 120 checkout in his 3-0 singles win over Dean Drage.
Consti Club Z enjoyed a 15-12 win at Green Dragon Z, with Mick Atkin the standout performer producing legs of 16 and 15 darts, plus a superb 142 checkout, to defeat Harry Tucker 3-0. In the final singles, Callum Day hit a 15-dart leg in his 2-1 win over Paul Merrill.
Consti B won 15-12 away at Lincoln Arms D. Scott Lawrence hit a 180 and a 100 finish for the visitors. Stacey Banister also struck a 180 and added six scores of 100 in her singles, but was edged out 2-1 by Stu Ewins.
Pinchbeck FC A were 16-11 winners away at Drayman’s Arms Q. The home side’s only singles success came from Charlie Elderkin, who beat Kirby McCracken 2-1.
Drayman’s Arms C recorded a 16-11 away win at Consti A in Division C, while Pinchbeck FC C also won 16-11, this time away at Services Club A. The Services’ only singles victory came from Sarah O’Driscoll, who beat Gary Coomes 2-1.
The Punchbowl have withdrawn from the league, and their scheduled fixtures will now be recorded as byes.
