Brand is unchallenged

The Spalding Cycling Club ten-mile TT league returned on Tuesday evening after a two week break for the inter-club Hereward League.

Reduced numbers on the night, with a couple of notable absences due to picking up small injuries and other commitments, saw Dom Brand go unchallenged at the top with a strong time of 21:52 cementing his lead in the league.

Nigel Swepson claimed second place of the back of a strong duathlon the previous weekend (23:35) and club legend Gareth Richards rounded out the podium taking home third (23:49).

Evgeniya Brand again cleaned up in the women’s category with a 25:36. Christine Payne on her road bike was runner up (31:38) which was enough for third in the road bike category. She was chasing Chris Peel in second with a 29:35 and Josh Dixon (26:28) who took home the win after his epic Tour of the Peaks ride on Sunday.
