First win of the season for Spalding Water polo

Spalding Water Polo got their first win of the season in a thrilling game at home against Dunstable.

After their first two games resulting in draws Spalding hoped to start this game strong but it wasn’t to be.

In the opening minutes Spalding were wasteful in attack and Dunstable were clinical.

Quickly Spalding found themselves 3-0 down.

Spalding managed to get themselves into this game with goals from Adam Found and Sam Murray, but

Dunstable still continued to score so the first quarter finished 5-3.

It became clear this was going to be a game about attack.

Both teams continued to score regularly in the second quarter.

Spalding were able to narrow to gap by one goal with the score at half time at 8-7.

The third quarter saw Spalding finally take the lead in the game with the score at the end of this period 12-11.

The final quarter was the highest scoring of the night with Spalding adding another six and Dunstable scoring five of their own.

The game finally finished to the relief of the Spalding coach with Spalding winning 18-16.
