Back on the Zebra saddle

A lead singer rejoined his former band almost 28 years to the day since his last performance recently.

When local music legends Zebra played The Tulip Queen recently they invited Sandy Melrose back to sing Wishing Well.

“it was an absolute privilege and honour to perform with the band,” he said. “, I had a great night.

“Everyone was so wonderful telling me stories of how we played at their prom or their parents used to come to our gigs.”

Team leader at The Tulip Queen, Angel Midgley said: “It was an incredible night, Zebra were amazing our guests and staff danced all night.

“We cannot wait to have them back here in September. “

The pub is offering two free carveries to the person who took the best picture of the night. They can be posted on its Facebook page.
