Charity benefits from ‘triathlon’

The Spalding Rotary Club has been able to present a cheque for £1,000 thanks to the money it has raised recently.

It includes the fund raising efforts of club president Graham Dawson and his year-long triathlon challenge.

Over the past few months he’s been attempting to swim the return width of the English Channel (42 miles in a swimming pool), cycle 1,000 miles by the end of June and completing the Couch to 5K running challenge.

Breast Cancer Now is a national charity dedicated to giving support to everyone affected by breast cancer.

They are researchers, building a better future, nurses and expert staff, supporting people and campaigners, fighting to change the things that matter the most.

A cheque was presented to Breast Cancer Now ambassador Ninita Reed at the Rotary Club’s recent open evening.

Ninita thanked members and said: “For you, as a small group, to raise so much money is really very special.”
