A vacant Spalding store is set to be filled by one that’s already thriving.
The Furniture Warehouse is looking to create an ‘Ikea style’ walkthrough by expanding its current premises.
It took over one half of what used to be Beale’s department store, opening in January 24.
Now it’s set to move into the vacant other half as well.

“Our Spalding store is one of our best performing,” said James Thomas. “Our flagship store is well established but this is competing with out Peterborough store as the next one.
“I think the reason for that is the quality of the goods compared to the price.
“The majority is manufactured by the company so we can set our prices and know how good the furniture is.”
Now the store needs new space so it’s also taking over the other part of the former Beale’s the entry to which is a next to the Hole in the Wall passage.
“It will comprise an Ikea style walk through so you can see how the furniture would be in each room.
“Different rooms will be set up and customers will be able to walk through.”
A spokesman said: “We’ve been incredibly grateful for the continued support from the people of Spalding over the past two years.
“This has consistently been one of our best-performing stores, and by bringing the two premises back together again – creating a Furniture Warehouse Superstore in the process – we’re confident we can build on that success.
“The new space will allow us to offer a more diverse product range, showcasing a broader selection from our catalogue while creating an even better shopping experience. We’d be delighted to welcome as many of you as possible for our reopening weekend on March 21 and 22, and of course at any time thereafter.”
