‘Last chance’ for Spalding drug dealer

A Spalding man who admitted supplying cannabis has been given a last chance to avoid jail by a judge.

Tristan Boon, 29, of Regent Street, was ordered to appear before Lincoln Crown Court after he admitted breaching a suspended prison sentence which was passed on him in February.

The court heard Boon was originally sentenced to eight months imprisonment suspended for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to supplying a Class B drug and attempting to fraudulently evade duty.

As part of the sentence Boon was ordered to co-operate with the Probation Service but the court heard he failed to attend his first appointments on February 6 and 12.

Neil Sands, mitigating, urged the court not to activate his eight month jail sentence despite the guilty plea to breaching his suspended sentence.

Mr Sands said: “He has attended crown court from Spalding.

“It would appear he does not have the most organised life and was not sure about his appointments.

“On the up side there has been no further offending.”

Mr Sands added: “I have warned him that if he was to get a last chance, to use a football analogy, this would be a yellow card and next time it would be a red.”

Addressing Boon in person Judge Catarina Sjolin-Knight said: “I am not famous for not making myself clear.

“I came into court ready to send you to prison.

“But Mr Sands tells me you want to get your act together.”

Judge Sjolin-Knight deferred the sentence hearing until April 13 but warned Boon: “By then you will have attended all your appointments or I will activate the custodial sentence.”
