A planned four-day hearing into a developers’ appeal over the refusal of planning permission for its solar farm has been ended on its first day.
Pathfinder Clean Energy’s plan to build Meridian Solar Farm close to the county border with Cambridgeshire was refused by South Holland District Council.
An informal appeal hearing began on Tuesday in Wisbech, but the hearing was told it could not continue.
That’s because the planning inspector ‘determined that the proposal is a development requiring an environmental impact assessment’, a council spokesman said.
“Given this, it was considered that the hearing could not progress any further and was adjourned,” the spokesman continued. “The appeal is to be rescheduled by the Planning Inspectorate.”
