We both write to express our sincere thanks for the excellent news that the Planning Inspectorate in Bristol has turned down the appeal against the refusal or permission for the asphalt plant at Sutton Bridge.
We wish to thank sincerely our planning officers for putting a vigorous case and reasons on behalf of our community.
We also want to thank the many people who turned up to the public meeting on the subject, and also thank all those who wrote in, or objected online against the appeal.
Especially, deep thanks are due to our Member of Parliament, Sir John Hayes, whose strong opposition to the scheme, and help to us in opposing it, are very much appreciated by all those in Sutton Bridge who might have been affected by it.
We believe this is a very good day for our residents, especially those who would have been ‘down wind’ of the proposal, including our sheltered, elderly residents, local sports people and young people using our play and sports facilities, and people attending graves in our churchyard.
Well done to everyone who helped us get this result!
Couns Chris Brewis and Michael Booth
