LETTERS – Help Holbeach RBL

Many readers may be aware of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, and we are very grateful for the generosity of the local community, which has seen over £15,000 raised over the past year in Holbeach alone.

But did you know that the RBL operates all year round, helping members of the Armed Forces community to rebuild lives and provide the support they need to create a better future?

At the local level, branches exist to raise awareness of the RBL’s work and arrange events and other activities such as visits to the Poppy Factory and other places of interest.

However, we are always ready to welcome new members as we are unable to continue this range of activity with our current resources.

Would any of your readers (there’s no lower age limit) be interested in joining the Holbeach branch or just coming along to one of our meetings – you don’t need to be a member, or ex-services – at the United Services Club at 7pm on the third Wednesday of each month, except August?

The December meeting has a Christmas theme. New volunteers, especially younger ones, are needed to help us organise events and future Poppy Appeal campaigns to ensure the Branch remains viable.

Please contact the Holbeach Branch Secretary on 07764 348658.
