Knights’ unbeaten home run comes to an end

An eight-match unbeaten United Counties League Division One run at their temporary Sleaford home came to an end for Pinchbeck United on Saturday.

Clipstone Welfare left Eslaforde Park with all three points after a 3-2 win and, but for the heroics of home man of the match Ben Martin it could have been more.

Elliot Foster put the Knights ahead from the spot but two goals in seven minutes from Lemar Carlin turned the match in favour of the visitors, who had gone into the game second bottom of the table.

They added a third on the hour mark before substitute JJ Ward converted a second penalty for the hosts to raise their hopes in vain.

There was also a disappointing defeat on Tuesday night too as Pinchbeck lost 2-0 at Dunkirk.

The Knights had chances during the game but eventually fell behind to a Ben Maxwell goal on 54 minutes.
Despite pushing for a leveller the hosts made sure of the win three minutes from time with Craig Westcarr netting.

Pinchbeck travel to Stapleford Town on Saturday.
