Second round of KO Cup

This week saw the second round of the Pinchbeck and District Darts League’s Knockout Cup with eight teams vying to reach the semi-finals.

The match of the round came at The Green Dragon A taking on visitors Services Club B.

Dragon took the first pairs game but Tony Cark and Andy Mason winning 2-1 levelled the match with Mason taking out a 139 checkout for an 18-dart leg after Jon Goor of Dragon had hit a 180 to leave them on a double.

Ady Smith and Steve Rawding then made it 2-1 to Services, winning their pairs game 2-0.

Dave Norbury increased the lead to 3-1 in the first singles.

Jon Goor got a game back for Dragon before Rawding beat Andy Porter 2-0 to give the Services a 4-2 lead.

Dan Martin and Finn Mottram both won 2-1 for Dragon to level the scores at four all setting up a last game decider.

Smith struck first for the Services with a 14-dart leg including a 180 before Shayne Hubbard levelled it up at 1-1.

Smith held his nerve to hit the winning double to give Services a 5-4 victory.

Joining them in the next round are Division C side Pinchbeck FC C.

After trailing 4-2 to Services Club A with three games to play, wins for Graham Amess and Adam Rolfe levelled the score for the Pinchbeck side meaning another last game decider.

Captain Jay Vernalls came out on top 2-1 against Acker Kelk to give them the 5-4 win.

Keeping their hopes of a league and cup double alive, Lincoln Arms A came out 7-2 victors at home to Consti Club C.

Jimmy Tenno had a 180 and a 120 checkout for the Lincoln but suffered a 2-1 singles loss to Jacob Herd.

Tenno also had a 15-dart leg with partner Paul Blow in their pairs game.

The only other success for Consti was Jack Morton beating Dean Murray 2-1.

Making up the quartet in the last four are The Drayman’s Arms.

After powering into a 4-1 lead, Connor Newton sealed the victory with a 2-0 win over Trev Wright.

Duane Harrison and Jay Fountain pulled two games back for Lincoln but it was too little too late, the Drayman’s finally coming out 6-3 winners.

In Division C, bottom side Green Dragon C picked up their second win of the season beating Consti Club A 15-12.
Harry Lynch and Trent Hutson both winning 2-1 in the last two games giving them the victory.

Division C – Green Dragon C 15 Consti Club A 12.

* On Monday it was the divisional pairs qualifiers for the Spalding Darts League.
in division 1 the final will be between Simon Hill and Ant Richardson of Tigers C who will play last season’s winners Nick Moyses and Andy Bingham (Consti A).

In division 2 the Pied Calf keep up their good season and now have Jacob Herd and Harry Faulkner in the pairs final and they will play Draymans B pairing of Chris Howling and Conor Hughes.

In division 3 it’s an all Riverside final with Andy Taylor and Tracey Baldwin taking on Jonny Pell and Carl Kirk.
Next week is finals night were all divisional finals will played off.
