Success for Silver Spoon

Silver Spoon Bowmen archers sent a small contingent of two archers to Old Oundle Bowmen’s Albion and Windsor shoot at Whittlesey on Bank Holiday Monday.

Both archers won their respective competitions, Roger Sale in the Gents’ Longbow Windsor and Lynn Fisher in the Ladies’ Albion Compound round.

Fisher shot the highest score of any archer at the tournament so won the prestigious Plough Cup.

She also shot a personal best score that is also club record and a potential County Record in the 50+ category.

Archers from the club also travelled to Lincoln to shoot the Lincs County 1440 event, which is part of an Inter-County shoot against Nottinghamshire and many of the Spalding clubs archers shot for the county too.

Whilst Lincolnshire narrowly lost to their county neighbours, Silver Spoon’s archers carried away county trophies.
Amy Gott won the Senior Ladies’ 1440 Recurve with Zara Fowler finishing second. Jess Earth won the Senior Ladies’ Compound event with Fisher finishing second.

Dave Ingliss won the Senior Gents’ 50+ event.
