Burst water main closes road

A burst water main has led to the closure of Bourne Road in Spalding.

Neighbours close to the leak say they’ve been told there are two cracks from which water has been escaping from under the road since 12pm on Wednesday, July 30).

Several properties have had to put sandbags up to stop water from coming into their properties.

There’s numerous signs up saying that Winsover Road is currently closed, though it is in fact Bourne Road that’s currently blocked as Anglian Water are carrying out repairs.

On Friday (August 8), an Anglian Water spokesperson said: “Our teams are currently working to fix a burst main on Bourne Road in Spalding. In order for our teams to do this safely, we have needed to close the road and aim to reopen it as soon as possible.

“We’d like to thank road users and our customers for their patience while we complete this essential work.”
