Home plan for ex Methodist Chapel

Plans to convert a former Methodist Church in Lutton Marsh into a home have been submitted.

An initial enquiry about the conversion four years ago threw up problems with the flooding risk.

It was in an area labelled as a ‘danger for all’ for by the Environment Agency and conversion couldn’t go ahead.

But the new application sees the ground floor used for non-habitable rooms, including a garage, shower room and utility room.

The habitable areas, including two bedrooms, will be housed in the first floor extension, if permission is granted by South Holland District Council.

It is being converted ‘for the benefit of Rev Luke Smith,’ according to submitted documents with the application.

The building has been empty for many years and was built between 1940 and 1950.

The existing door to the south will be retained.
