Services C take Division One top spot thanks to 5-1 victory

Services C have taken the top spot in Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League after a 5-1 win.

They’ve moved up from third place, thanks to a victory over last placed Holbeach B.
Mark Spiller (o7) got Services off to a great start, beating Barry Haynes (o7) on the black.
Charlie Mullane (r28) took the second frame to even the score, before Services hit back, taking the final three frames courtesy of Spiller, Kev Fitter (o7) and Nigel Cherry (scr).
Consti E fell to second, after losing 5-1 to clubmates Consti G.
Winners for the G team were Joe Garland (scr), Neil Grant (scr), Darren Woodberry (o35) and Ady Sibley (o35).
Sean Jeynes (o14) got the solitary point for Consti E.
Donington C had a free week, meaning they drop to third place.
Pyramid C remain in fourth but have closed the gap, thanks to a 6-0 thrashing of friendly foe Pyramid A.
Winners on the night were Richard Skellett (o14) twice, Dave Pearson (o14), Jason Green (o56) and Spencer Dawkins (o56).
Green knocked in a 35 break on his way to a win over Michael Twell (scr).
Holbeach C got a 4-2 win over Consti H, thanks to victories from Nick Edwards (r14), Terry West (r7) and Paul Ashton (r14).
Doug Garfoot (o28) and Olly Turner (o7) were the winners for Consti.
Pyramid D beat Bourne SC A 4-2.
Mark Gray (o98) took the first frame for Bourne, before Reegan Cooke-Holmes (o21) answered back for Pyramid, winning by just one point.
Peter Sharpe-Grose (r14) won the next frame to give Pyramid the advantage, but Oliver Player (o28) levelled the score again, winning the fourth frame.
It was up to Ryan Burton (scr) and Ian Clare (scr) to battle it out for the win, with Burton emerging the victor.
Holbeach D got the better of Services A, winning 4-2.
Services took the first two frames thanks to Vince Fitter (o42) and Phil Spencer (o14), before Holbeach won the next three and the match.
Gosberton A closed the gap at the top of Division Two, with a great 6-0 win over Consti B.
Winners were Geoff Wand (r14), Carl Wand (o7), Adam Twigg (o7), Jamie Mumby (o21) and Alan Jackson (scr).
They are now just three points behind leaders Boundary A, who beat Pyramid E 4-2.
Pyramid started well thanks to John Clapton (r7) but lost the next two as Elliott Cox (r7) and Andy Mowforth (scr) beat Steve Thompson (r14) and Jeremy Radford (o7) respectively.
Adrian Sharpe (o21) levelled the score for Pyramid before Daniel Smith (o21) beat Clapton to seal the match.
Services D jumped a place to third winning away at Consti I, who are sitting at the bottom of the table.
Paul Spicer (o21), Ian Smith (scr) and Russ Morse (o7) were the winners for Services.
Donington A got the better of Consti F, beating them 4-2.
Winners on the night were John George (o7), Tony Scully (o42) and Shaun Pickering (r7).
Father and son Martyn (r14) and Justyn Stanley (scr) got the wins for Consti.
Whittlesey C were the winners at home to Holbeach E, getting a 4-2 victory.
Andy Blythe (o7), Paul Cook (o21) and Garry Thewliss (scr) got the points.
In Division Three, a top of the table clash saw Whittlesey A take the spoils and the top spot, beating Pyramid B to go one point clear
They got a 4-2 win thanks to Lance Clarke (r14), Jason Clarke (o14) and Graeme Sawyer (o14), who took the first three frames.
Pyramid hit back with Carl Kelham (r7) and Roy Jackson (r14) taking the last two, but it wasn’t enough to win the match.
Donington D are still in third, after beating Consti C 4-2.
Pat Taylor (r21) took the first frame for Donington, before Dave Banister (o7) levelled the score.
Paul Whyte (r7) and Marcus Reynolds (o7) took the following two frames to win the match, with Kevin Sweeney (r7) beating Alan Stanley (r7) in the final frame to make it 4-2.
Donington B got the better of Consti J, beating them 4-2 to hold on to fourth place.
Their winners were Gav Lewis (o7), Phil Burrell (r7) and Mick Clark (r14).
Gosberton C are still bottom of the league but got a 4-2 win on Thursday, beating Consti D.
Martin Perkins (o21) and Steve Moore (r21) got Consti off to a good start, but Rob Lockett (r28), Mark Payne (o14) and Stuart Tamplin (r7) took the next three frames to secure the win.
Consti A got the better of Gosberton D, winning 4-2 thanks to Martyn Johnson (r21), Paul Kent (r7) and Bill Prosser (o7).
Boundary B were 5-1 winners away at Gosberton B.
