Four-some Crowland continue unbeaten run

Crowland Town continued their fine run winning 4-0 at Deeping United to go third in the Peterborough and District League Premier Division.

A double from Jordan Kirchin plus goals from Lawrence Stewart and Joe Strickland ensured an 17th game unbeaten was secured comfortably.
Crowland are 14 points behind the top two, Stanground Cardea Sports and Uppingham Town, but with eight and six games in hand respectively.
The face Deeping again in the return fixture at Snowden Field this Saturday.
Leaders Uppingham thrashed bottom side Holbeach United Reserves 6-0.
Moulton Harrox remain in mid-table as they were condemned to a sixth defeat of the league season by Warboys Town who won 1-0 through a George Terry goal.
There was a thriller in the Spalding Interservices Cup with Long Sutton Athletic coming from behind to beat South Lincolnshire Swifts.
Swifts are flying in Division Three and took an early lead at Athletic who are bottom of Division One with Kieron McConnell and David Goss netting in the first 15 minutes.
Jamal Nyang scored two and Jordan Nyang and Martin Ward one each as Long Sutton came back from 2-1 down at the break to win 4-3 despite a second strike for McConnell.
It was the same scoreline in the other game in the competition as Tydd Reserves edged out Sutton Bridge United Reserves.
Two Daniel Cassidy goals in six minutes midway through the first period put Tydd in the ascendency and Finlay Rudge’s goal just before the break ensured they went in 3-1 to the good.
Samuel Bedwell-Byatt scored the winning goal as Tydd held off a Sutton Bridge comeback for whom Ryan Brothwell, Alex Clements-Limb and Mark Garner scored.
In Division Three, Moulton Harrox Reserves lost by the odd goal in five.
Martin Sandall and John Ball were on target for Moulton as they went down 3-2 to Wittering.
In Sunday Division One, Harvey Henderson scored a hat-trick for second placed Crowland Town as they were held to a 4-4 draw by Glinton and Northborough.
Stephen Wells netted Crowland’s other goal.
The return fixture is this weekend.
A 91st minute goal from Alfie Cato gave South Holland United a 3-2 win at Benwick Athletic in Division Two.
Warren Hebblethwaite’s double had put South Holland in front but Benwick fought back in the second period before Cato’s last gasp winner.
