A key road in Pinchbeck will be shut for up to eight weeks on Monday (July 15).
As part of the £20m Levelling Up work on the A16 roundabout, its junction with Wardentree Lane will be fully closed.
It’s to create a new lane from the B1180 on to the A16.
A diversion will be in place from Wardentree Lane and along the A152, but Lincolnshire County Council has warned of the possibility of disruption.
Karen Cassar, assistant director for highways, said: “With our Pinchbeck roundabout improvements fully underway, we’re nearing the start of our first road closure part of the scheme which will be on the B1180 leg of the roundabout.
“The eight-week closure will allow the project team safe working space to complete utility works at this area of site, as well as building additional entry and exit lanes onto the new roundabout. We’ll also be taking the opportunity to lay new road surfacing and install new signage and street lighting columns here.
“This will no doubt cause some disruption, but the closure is essential for ensuring the safety of both our workforce and road users.
“Some additional closures will be needed later in the scheme, but dates haven’t been confirmed. Once we have details, we will share more information closer to the time.”
Traffic will be diverted through Pinchbeck and Surfleet and then on the A152 junction.
Work on the A16’s next junction south, the McDonald’s junction, will continue throughout the time of the closures.
