Vets to take on Legends in memory of Heather

A local man is holding a charity football match in memory of his mum.

Carl Brown lost mum Heather to cancer in September, aged 61, and is now hoping to raise £3,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
He said: “If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries.
“Macmillan is doing whatever it takes, but without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.”
The match between South Lincs Swifts Vets and The Gedney Legends takes place at Carter’s Park, the home of Holbeach United, on July 21.
Admission is free and gates open at 1.30pm for a 3pm kick-off.
Football card draws and a raffle will help to raise funds on the day, with match funding pledged by Barclays Bank. Raffle prizes include signed footballs from Peterborough United and Boston United.
Carl added: “It will be a good day watching football and raising money for a good cause. Thank you for supporting my fundraising.”
