Green fingers at Ayscoughfee

The children in Kindergarten and Reception at Ayscoughfee Hall School have started learning about ‘On the Move’ this term.

Last week they enjoyed a visit from Graeme Matthews and Luke Hunns from G & J Peck, of Pinchbeck, who donated a ride-on tractor to the school and took along their new CASE Maxxum 150 CVX tractor to show the children.
Youngsters were able to climb into the cab and ask lots of questions, finding out about how the tractor makes the farmer’s job so much easier.
Graeme and Luke also spoke to the Year 4 children, who asked lots of interesting questions, to help them with their topic this term ‘Planet Protectors’ and their DT and Geography project ‘My Green City’.
The Kindergarten and Reception children also received a fabulous educational visit from Cameron Whitworth, of Baytree Nurseries, who explained all about the Blooming Stars competition that the school has entered.
The children have been planting petunias and learning to identify the different parts of the plants and what they need to survive.
