Rotarians join charity ride

Two Spalding Rotarians helped a fellow member from East Sussex in his charity cycle ride.

James Slinn, the president of the Rotary Club of Bexhill, is on a mammoth ride of 2,500 miles raising money for the DISC Dementia Support and Sarah Lee Trust.
He stopped in Spalding on Saturday night, after riding 52 miles with Graham Dawson of the Spalding Rotary.
The pair were joined by another member, Andy Prior the following day for a 40-mile stretch in strong winds and heavy rain.
“I have never ridden in dreadful conditions like that before,” said Graham. “But we had to keep going to the end to support James and his fund-raising quest.
“Cash donations of £185 were raised over the weekend, bringing James’ total to date to over £1,250.
“This included £100 donation from The Rotary Club of Spalding.
“This is such a worthy cause, and we are still waiting for sponsorship totals to come in.”
