Spalding’s Community Connectors are holding fortnightly coffee and cake drop in sessions for those who may need them.
Vanessa Collins and Jo Ireland are based at Tonic Health at Broadgate House on Westlode Street.
“Our job is about connecting people to local services that are right for them, whatever that might be,” Jo said. “It helps people meet even more faces.
“Anyone can drop in to the coffee and cake sessions at Broadgate House.”
The sessions are the first and third Wednesdays of the month between 10am and 12pm.
At the first meeting attendees were given a bunch of daffodils courtesy of Flamingo Flowers who have nominated Tonic Health as its charity of the year. It’s after Jo and Vanessa were involved in the set up of the firm’s new staff wellbeing room at its Weston site.
“The very first session was a success with around a dozen people coming along,” continued Jo. “Everyone had lots of fun talking to new people, playing games and enjoying some light-hearted banter.
“We were able to signpost relevant activities, support and services to attendees, depending on their set of circumstances.
“As Community Connectors we get to see first hand the wonderful things going on at Tonic Health but we are there to support all the wonderful sessions going on in the local area.”
An engagement event is taking place at Tonic Health’s Holbeach Hub on Boston Road from 10am to 3.30pm on April 11. It will include an as yet unnamed special guest. For that a competition to win a slow cooker and a £50 shopping voucher is launching on the Holbeach Hub Facebook page. The winner will be revealed on April 12.
